This pregnancy is a combination of Cumano and Vigo d’Arouilles.
Sire Cumano’s performances are etched in the mind of every spectator in Aachen or Spruce Meadows, Calgary. In 2006 Jos Lansink and Cumano were crowned World Champion at the Games in Germany. Not only was it a fantastic performance of Lansink but the clears that Cumano jumped with riders like Edwina Tops-Alexander, Beezie Madden and Meredith Michaels Beerbaum were sensational. Just 2 years before, he competed at the Olympics, just missing out on the podium and in the same year he won the famous Calgary Grand Prix.
Only a few years later, Cumano’s daughter Nasa and Niels Bruynseels would finish 2nd in that Spruce Meadows Grand Prix and Noblesse des Tess would win team bronze at the London Olympics with Kamal Bahamdan.
The dam’s sire is another World Champion. Vigo d’Arsouilles conquered Lexington with Philippe Lejeune, claiming the individual title and the bronze medal with the Belgian team. As such, this combination brings 2 world champions together in an Olympic dam line.
The dam of this pregnancy is a sister of the Olympic contender Romeo 88. He will compete in Tokyo with Harry Charles on Team GB and started his top level career with Jessica Springsteen. However it was with Darragh Kenny that Romeo scored massive results right up to 1.65m level, coming 2nd in the Rolex Top 10 Final and 2 in the GCL Super Cup in Prague.
The story is even more impressive as the dam is a sister of Eric Lamaze’s Check Picobello Z, winner of the 4* Grand Prix in Wellington and 2nd in the 5* Grand Prix of Spruce Meadows.
The granddam is Only Picobello Z who was a finalist at the World Breeding Jumping Championships in Lanaken. She is a daughter of Pleasure by Picobello, the Redefin Grand Prix winner who competed at 1.60m level with 4 different riders, including Peter Wylde and Eric van der Vleuten.
