RED DEVIL OF PICOBELLO Z

Red Devil of Picobello Z is a colt by Romeo 88 and Diamant de Semilly and combines the 2 leading damlines of Picobello. 

The sire is Romeo 88 who was originally named Champion of Picobello, by Contact van de Heffinck and Orlando van de Heffinck. First competed by Jessica Springsteen than by Darragh Kenny, Romeo was 2nd in the Rolex Top 10 Final and had a massive payday at the Global Champions League Super Cup in Prague. Now with Harry Charles, Romeo 88 is heading to Tokyo for the Olympics on Team GB. 

Romeo 88 is a brother of Eric Lamaze 1.60m winner Check Picobello Z and Romeo’s granddam is the great Pleasure by Picobello who won the Redefin Grand Prix and competed at 1.60m level with 4 different riders, including Peter Wylde and Eric van der Vleuten.

The dam of Red Devil is Diamond of Picobello Z, a mare by Diamant de Semilly and Carthago Z. She successfully competed in the sport herself with Candice King but a sports injury cut her career short. 

Daimond is a sister of  Born To Be Picobello Z, who finished 6th in the Great American $1 Million Grand Prix and 3rd in the Spruce Meadows 5* Grand Prix with Scott Keach. This Born to Be Picobello was on the longlist for the Olympics but passed away due to collic just weeks before. It would have been a rare occasion where 2 horses bred by the same breeder compete at the Olympics. And in the case of Red Devil those 2 lines fuse together in this foal.

The grand dam is Picobello Copy Z who was successful with Guillaume Ruant in Junior and Young Rider classes.
